Lil’ Tom’s quilt

Made over a long  period of time, usually at my Monday night sewing gathering.  I didn’t have a particular person in mind for this quilt.  Well, no, I did – but that person’s child will be one in March.  Then there was another friend – her baby is about six months old now.  But when Mel told me she was having a boy, I knew that the reason I didn’t finish the quilt in time for the others was because it was meant for Tom.

The quilt fabric was a bundle of fat quarters, bought in Canberra a long time ago.  It was (as always) machine pieced and hand quilted.   I love this quilt.  So does Mel.  I asked her to make sure she uses it – it’s fully washable so I expect all manner of bodily fluids (hopefully all Tom’s) to touch it at one time or another.
